Announcing the new and improved Mobihelp for iOS

When you’re promising your users the most exceptional support experience on this side of the universe, it hardly seems fair to restrict it to just the web and leave your mobile users out of the party. This especially holds true if your business relies heavily on your mobile app, and getting people to use it is the only way for them to know you ever existed.

Because after all, not every user is going to take the time to trot over to a computer and raise a support ticket when they are stuck, or when they see a bug. Especially when deleting your app and moving on takes just a few taps and gives them the opportunity to explore new apps and adventures.

This is the problem we set out to fix when we built Mobihelp for iOS from the ground up, two years ago. We wanted to make it incredibly easy for users to talk to app developers even as they were trying it out. And since then, we’ve heard back from dozens of iOS developers about how we could make Mobihelp better – including issues that had to be fixed, functionalities that could make a lot of difference and ideas on how we could help developers make their users happy. Suffice to say that we got a lot of feedback. So much so that we decided to go back to the drawing board and start afresh.

It took us a lot longer than we anticipated but we’re happy to announce the launch of a new, completely revamped version of Mobihelp for iOS. A version that takes into account every bit of feedback that ever came our way. And the good news is that it’s completely compatible with iOS 7 and iOS 8.

So, how does Mobihelp for iOS change the way you look at in-app support? Let us count the ways:

1) Mobihelp’s middle name is “easy to integrate”

Three little steps. That’s all it takes for you to ensure that your app is beyond compare. All you have to do is trot down to the Freshdesk Admin Panel and click on the Mobihelp icon. And if you get lost and confused, everything you need to know about the setup process is in this handy little guide.

The Mobihelp SDK also has a really small footprint on your app. In fact, it’s so lightweight, that you’ll barely know it’s there when you compile your app.

2) Everything syncs beautifully, just the way you like things

Not only does Mobihelp ensure that your knowledge base articles are accessible right from your app, but it also makes sure that any updates you make to your solution articles in your support portal sync like a charm. The best part is that you don’t have to submit your app for approval to the App Store whenever you update a solution or add a new article to your knowledge base. No week-long approval process, no replacing your app on the App Store with a new build, nothing.

3) Beta test your way to stardom

A beta launch can be both the best and worst of times for your team. On one hand, you’re introducing your precious to the world for the first time but on the other, you’re knee deep in bug reports and feature requests, trying to sort out the nice from the terrible and sometimes, the incomplete. But sweat not. With Mobihelp, you can beta test your way to stardom; engage with your product hunters right from within your app, learn their problems and build only the features that matter, without letting the chaos take over.

The best part is that, every time a ticket is created, Mobihelp automatically picks up contextual data – debug logs, breadcrumbs, app version, OS version etc. and attaches it to the ticket. This means that you get to squash bugs and improve your app without asking any questions to your customers. The ability to follow up on even the most sparse tickets, is no longer the stuff of legend.

4) You don’t have to pay a dime for it

And there’s no catch, no bait, and no hidden conditions whatsoever. We won’t force you to pay for using it, regardless of whether you’re upgrading, downgrading or changing your middle name. Mobihelp for iOS is everything you need to make sure that your iOS app users are madly in love with you and is free forever and ever.

You can get the Mobihelp iOS SDK right here. If Android is more your speed, the Mobihelp Android SDK is available here. Lost and confused?
