When we launched the Freshdesk Reseller Program in 2014, it was with one goal: to enable businesses from all over the world, to focus on customer service beyond all, regardless of where they were or what size of customer base they served.
With over 200 resellers in over 35 countries helping us contribute to a major chunk of Freshdesk’s overall sales and customer number, I’d say we’re succeeding in our endeavors and getting closer and closer to our goal.
But it isn’t just all about the money or the customer love we’re racking up. We’ve also worked on building a strong relationship with our resellers to get them as invested in the Freshdesk dream as us so that, they can also change the future of customer service, one business at a time. To that end, we’ve participated and hosted over 25 events with our resellers with another 10 more scheduled for the first half of this year alone!
But more on that later! Today, all we really want to talk about is our first ever Global Reseller Conference, that we hosted a week ago. A two-day, invite-only event; jam packed with insights, networking opportunities, and fun, saw resellers from Brazil, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Russia, Belgium, India, Philippines etc – gather to pool knowledge and share tips.
Top 5 Take-Aways for the Resellers
1. Collaboration with other Resellers:
When like-minded folks who share the same interests and face similar challenges are put under one roof, a lot of brainstorming happens. Everyone knew something that they could offer the others and there was a great deal of collaboration. By the end of the event, every reseller left with a lot of product insights, best practices, new tactics and strategies to work with. A win-win for everyone! As Konstantin Frolov, CEO of Swedbyte, Russia, put it, “The Freshdesk reseller conference was a great opportunity to meet key persons, get a feel of Freshdesk’s strong commitment to building exceptional products and grow our mutual business. Together with growing customer acquisitions rates throughout 2015, it lets us plan aggressively for 2016.”
2. Gain insider knowledge about Freshdesk’s suite of products:
No amount of training material and product tutorials is ever going to come close to a demo session led by the makers of the product. And that’s what happened during the conference. By talking to the makers, partners not only got to hear the director’s cut of how the product came about to be, but also got to discuss and figure out what problems the product solves along with the best use-case for each feature roll-out and enhancement. Partners also got a glimpse into how emerging trends are influencing our product roadmap, something Romain Herve, the co-founder of Cirruseo, France, was quite excited about.
“Cirruseo gained more than 40% new business with Freshdesk and 165% with Freshservice in 2015 Vs. 2014. After the conference, we are now totally rethinking our strategy to invest more time and effort in growing with Freshdesk.”
3. Growth with Freshdesk:
For partners, this event gave them the first opportunity to cultivate a deeper understanding of Freshdesk’s long-term growth plans to become a global SaaS powerhouse. Our CEO, Girish Mathrubootham and COO, Nishant Rao spoke a great deal about the role resellers will play in our growth strategy and how resellers can benefit from more focused investments.

4. Networking with Freshdesk folks:
Through formal sessions and fun-filled informal gatherings, our partners were able to put faces to the email IDs that they generally interact with. Selwyn Uy, CEO of i4Asia, quite enjoyed the opportunity to do so. “I believe Girish’s objective to have us feel the culture in Freshdesk,” he said, “-has been met. I am personally happy to have met all of you.”

It was also a great opportunity to show them around our office and introduce them to the people that have made Freshdesk what it is.
5. Focus on Reseller Profitability:
We set up sessions to showcase customer use-cases and best practices so that our resellers could kickstart newer or lesser explored revenue-generating opportunities and improve their own strategy. These sessions were intended to help equip resellers with adequate knowledge to replan their revenue strategy by providing additional value to their customers, something Yannick Pirard of Check Your Service, Netherlands, was quite excited about. “This reseller conference,” he said, “-has opened our eyes to a plethora of opportunities Freshdesk has laid for us to make use of. Our focus will obviously be shifting to Freshdesk now and we will be engaging more resources to take advantage of the opportunities.”
6. Experience Indian Culture:
From our Athithi-Devo-Bhava themed welcome to awesome auto rides, the reseller conference was a great way for partners to get a small, yet significant experience of multicultural India.
